You can "get away" with ignoring this in. For example, if you do not hand inspect and sort cases by headstamps (and even minor headstamp variations) for a bolt-action rifle, then you are severely limiting your results. Almost all general precautions, tips, and techniques translate for all three basic types, but you should always filter information with this in mind. Handloading for shotguns, rifles, and handguns are separate trades/disciplines. ![]() Obviously, you shouldn't "jump in" there anyway. I have found that "faster is better" in some situations, but I can definitely say that I have never found a published max load for a particular case/primer/bullet/powder/OAL combo that was the most accurate, regardless of the type of firearm, publisher, vintage of the components, etc. In general, most firearms/shooters prefer MOR loads.
